Croatia – Spain
Spain inflicted a 6-0 defeat on World Cup finalists Croatia in their last meeting, but La Roja are unlikely to have such a walkover this time as all Croatia’s stars are in the squad.
After England sensationally defeated Spain with a score of 3-2 in the previous round, all three national teams retain chances of getting through to the final four.
Croatia have not yet scored a single goal in this tournament, and after Mario Mandzukic retired from international football, the position of the central striker looks problematic.
Belgium – Iceland
Belgium could extend their perfect performance in the Uefa Nations League by defeating Iceland in Brussels on Thursday evening. Roberto Martinez’s troops easy beat the Scandinavians 0-3 away in Reykjavik in September.
Another victory would give Belgium more confidence before the last game of the group stage against Switzerland on Sunday.
Belgium’s main striker Romelu Lukaku is likely to miss the game given that he has not played for his club, Manchester United, in last Premiership and Champions League matches.
A series of failures haunts Iceland – the team have already played 13 games without a win.
