Premier League rivals Tottenham and Manchester City will compete in the Champions League quarter finals on Tuesday, April 9th.
Tuesday’s bout will show whether Mauricio Pochettino’s men or the Pep Guardiola’s team will get a place in the top four. Their first meeting in the Champions League 2019 will take place at the new Tottenham’s stadium before the decisive battle at Etihad.
Neither Hotspur nor Manchester City have any problems with suspension, since at this stage of the competition the yellow cards are reset.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente should be back after a head injury, while Eric Dyer and Eric Lamela most likely will not participate in the game, just like Serge Aurier, who hardly has time to recover.
Pep Guardiola hoped that Sergio Agüero would be able to play some role in the semifinal victory of the FA Cup on Saturday over Cardiff, but according to the doctors recommendations the Argentine striker did not participate in the game. Kyle Walker, Manchester defender will also be examined for readiness to enter the field on Tuesday after a recent tendon injury.
The return of Benjamin Mendy will redound to advantage the team, but Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabian Delph, having been injured, will not be able to play against Spurs.
Manchester City in their 22 games were defeated only in the game against Newcastle with a score of 2-1 and played in tie with Chelsea, whereas the Tottenham’s performance seems to be more modest.
