Premier League’s best young player left out of Germany’s World Cup squad
Manchester City attacking midfielder Leroy Sane has missed out on Germany’s World Cup 23-man squad, following latest decision made by long-time manager Joachim Low.
Sane, Bayer Leverkusen couple of players Bernd Leno and Jonathan Tah as well as Freiburg goal scorer Niels Petersen were all dropped as Joachim Low named his final 23-man squad for Russia 2018.
Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who returned after nine months out, is in the final squad.
Three Premier League players were included in the squad. This is Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil.
World champions, number 1 in FIFA ranking, Germany begin their World Cup defence in Russia with an interesting Group F draw against Mexico, Sweden and South Korea.
The decision not to include Sane in the final squad was a surprise for everyone, given the fact that he had a great season with City and was named the best young player of the Premier League of the year.
Zidane left Real Madrid following an argument over potential transfers
Zinedine Zidane left Real Madrid following a dispute with Real president Florentino Perez over the potential transfers of David De Gea and Eden Hazard.
The night before the most successful coach ever announced his resign at a press conference, he and club president Florentino Perez did not agree on the summer transfers.
The Frenchman told Perez that he intended to buy Hazard from Chelsea but the president refused it.
And when Peres told Zidane that he would like to sign David De Gea from Manchester United, Zidane insisted that he was confident in the current keeper Keylor Navas.
After the discussion had come to a standstill, Zidane told Peres: “I’m done. You care about the team. “
