The 28th seeded at Australian Open Frenchman Lucas Pouille made a sensation on the men’s side of the tournament. Now he goes to a previously unknown territory, reaching his first ever semifinal of the Grand Slam tournament.
On the way to success, Pouille defeated two players with higher ratings. In the fourth round, he won against Croat Borna Coric and in the quarter-finals he was better than Milos Raonic.
Will the Frenchman be able to keep his winning pace in the semifinals in the match against Serb Novak Djokovic, perhaps the best returner ever?
In the previous round, the World No. 1 without problems obtained victory over Asian best player, Kei Nishikori.
Unlike many “veterans,” Pouille will not complex against Djokovic, as this will be his first match against glorious Serb. His coach Mauresmo is also well acquainted with Djokovic’s game, as she was coaching Andy Murray during several of his matches against Djokovic.
