Having missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008 last season, Chicago are trying to find themselves. The defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals confidently play on home ice this season. The team scores 3.4 goals per game on average. In addition, the Capitals have won seven home games in a row versus Chicago.

Washington should improve their game in the attack, if they are seriously going to compete for their second consecutive Stanley Cup, and history shows that it is only a matter of time before everything starts to take shape in favor of this team.

The Islanders are on track to extend their dominance over New York rivals as the two teams play Wednesday night at the Garden. At the same time, the Rangers are now one of the hottest teams in the NHL, having won 6 straight games on home ice. However, this season the Rangers have problems with opponents from the same division.
