Atletico – Barcelona
Atletico can fuel the title battle on Saturday night if they beat Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Only four points separate the Blaugrana from sixth-placed Real Madrid, and after the champions lost 4-3 to Real Betis just before the international break other teams saw an opportunity to determine the tone for the rest of the season.
In Saturday’s match, two different styles of play will meet: Atletico are impressive at the bac but have problems with scoring goals, while Barca have scored at least 10 goals more than any other La Liga side, but also have conceded goals at regular intervals.
Eibar – Real Madrid
In other match on Sunday, Santiago Solari, who became the new head coach of Real Madrid, will travel away with his team to Eibar.
Real’s season is in tatters as former manager Julen Lopetegui was fired after the defeat in the Clasico against Barcelona, but Solari had already won four games in a row and was awarded a contract for 18 months.
