World Cup holders – the national team of Germany – needs a vital victory against Sweden after Joachim Low’s side lost their first match in the tournament in a catastrophic way.
Germany’s defence was below the mark in the match against Mexico, ended with a score of 0-1, and now Germany could be out of the tournament, if not achieve positive results in the other two remaining games.
Sweden, meanwhile, clearly have not come to Russia to go through the motions and after the victory over South Korea will feel themselves more confident.
The win of the Swedes on Saturday will provide them with an exit through the playoffs of the World Cup for the first time in 12 years. At the same time, if the Germans fail to reach the next round, this will be the largest failure in 80 years.
